The Pain Alliance Europe “Chronic Pain, Mental Health and Self-Management Survey 2025” highlights the scale of unmet needs of people living with chronic pain*

1,220 participants from 22 (mainly European) countries provided insights about their lived pain experiences via an online survey conducted from May – Nov 2025.

The “Chronic Pain, Mental Health and Self‑Management Survey 2025” was conducted to better understand the lived experiences of people with chronic pain across Europe, with a particular focus on mental health, self‑management, and access to care. Developed within the context of patient advocacy, the survey sought to capture patient-reported experiences and identify areas where pain care systems may be insufficiently addressing psychological and social dimensions of chronic pain.
