ENFA was founded in 2002 and renewed in 2008 as an umbrella organization for national and/or regional European fibromyalgia associations. As such ENFA is become more and more known by policymakers and politicians. The biggest achievement till so far is the acceptance of the written declaration on fibromyalgia 69/2008 by the European parliament in 2009.

ENFA’s objectives are to promote awareness of fibromyalgia by politicians, physicians, scientists and the general public on a European level. We want to achieve these objectives by getting fibromyalgia included in the European health program and to work closely together with other European umbrella organizations in order to get more involved in the policymaking.

The expectations from ENFA of PAE are that they can achieve more awareness of chronic pain and as such for fibromyalgia as fibromyalgia is known for its pain.
