Galician Rheumatological League
Pain Alliance Europe has encouraged its members to contribute to the campaign Pain Awareness month last September.
The Pain Awareness Month is an initiative of ACPA (The American Chronic Pain Association) September has been internationally declared to be the Pain Awareness Month, and organisations strive to use this period to inform the civil society, the health care professionals, the citizens upon the implications of chronic pain in everyday life, about the elimination of stigma by a better understanding and about why it should have a place on the political agenda.
The Galician Rheumatological League responded with a beautiful action and we would like to share with our audience its details.
Under the tag #PlantaLeCaraAlDolor, members and friends of the association encouraged by representatives of different local authorities, carried out symbolic plantations using a double play of words that in Spanish has the meaning “to plant in front of pain”, which means facing pain.

This campaign has been carried out in different provinces of Galicia:
- A Coruña September 15th 2018
- Lema, Arzúa ( A Coruña) September 24th 2018
- Vilaba (Lugo) September 26th 2018
- Vilagarcía de Arousa (Pontevedra) September 27th 2018
We invite you to consult the beautiful photo documentary reporting on this action.
