These guidelines were developed by the Working Group on Patient-Reported Indicators for Hip and Knee Replacement Surgery, which was co-chaired by the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) in partnership with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
The PROMs are measurement instruments completed by patients to obtain information on aspects of their overall quality of life and are essential to delivering patient-centred health care.
Joop van Griensven, President of PAE and Member of the OECD PaRIS Working Group for Hip and Knee Replacement Surgery, contributed to this important document, together with Dave deBronkart, by drafting the ‘Patient Foreword’. In this section, it was ensured that patients are represented and understood by recommending the use of language that is adapted to the patient’s understanding and the involvement of patients from the beginning and in all stages of research, design and implementation.
You can find these guidelines published on CIHI and OECD websites.
